The article analyses the competitiveness of small businesses in the knitwear industry of Andijan region using official foreign-trade statistics. In 2025 textile exports of the region reached USD 471.6 million (35.1% of total exports) but fell by 3.1% year-on-year. Four markets (Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan) account for 86.4% of regional exports, and the Herfindahl–Hirschman index of export markets is about 2,169. The study concludes that the main reserves of competitiveness lie in market diversification, moving from semi-finished goods (knitted fabric, yarn) to finished garments, cost management and digital sales channels. Practical mechanisms and monitoring indicators for small enterprises are proposed.
